Established in 1995 by The Matsukuma Family, Rice Things has flourished in the city of Redondo Beach for over 20 years bringing a taste of Japanese food to its valued customers.

As the years past, the restaurant became synonymous with having great tasting food at very reasonable prices which continued throughout the years to follow.

In December 2019, the Matsukuma Family decided it was time for change and I assumed the business operations under a new name, South Bay Rice Things. With keeping the current kitchen cooks and recipes, it was a smooth transition to continue business.

We are grateful to our long time loyal customers and friends. Our goal is to continue the tradition set forth by the family and create our identity with great customer service and “oishi” food.
